FEATURING YOU(TH)...

The Future of Music Starts Here!

Calling All Young Creators!

Do you have a passion for music? Is your teen always creating beats, singing tunes, or curious about how to make their own tracks? Featuring You(th) is here to turn that spark into a skill, with 10 months of hands-on workshops where they’ll learn how to create and perform music using the latest tools and technologies!

Starting in October 2024 through June 2025, we’ll meet once a month at the Yaletown Roundhouse Community Centre, guiding your child through everything they need to know to take their music to the next level. It all leads up to a grand outdoor summer concert in July, where they’ll show off their new skills in front of friends, family, and the community.

Why Featuring You(th) Is THE Place to Be!

We Believe in The Future...

At Featuring You(th), we believe music isn’t just something to listen to – it’s something to create! We’ve designed our program to give young musicians under 19 the chance to dive into modern music creation. This isn’t your average music class; we’re bringing your child into the world of beatboxing, looping, music production, and even DJing. Whether they’ve got experience or they’re just getting started, we’ve got them covered.

Fast Track Your Youth's Performance

Our program is perfect for youth who want to make music F.A.S.T. and Easy and start performing right away. By the end of the program, they’ll not only have learned how to make music with cutting-edge technology, but they’ll also have the tools to take the stage confidently—or even turn their passion into an income-generating skill!

What We’ll Be Learning (And Loving Every Minute!)

Each of our monthly workshops is packed with hands-on fun and learning. Here’s what your child can expect:

🎤 Beatboxing & Looping

We’ll start with the basics, teaching your child how to build beats with their voice and layer sounds with a looper. They’ll also learn basic piano theory to add depth to their tracks.

🎛️ Music Production

Next, they’ll dive into music production using DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations). They’ll take their loops and turn them into full tracks with the help of MIDI controllers and synths.

🎧 DJing

It’s all about the party! We’ll teach them the basics of DJing, mixing tracks, and transitioning from song to song—getting them ready for that live performance moment!

🎥 Performance & Video Production

As the final workshop approaches, we’ll teach them the art of performing live and how to capture their performance on camera. With just a smartphone, they’ll learn how to film and edit music videos—perfect for social media and showing off their skills.

🎉 The Grand Finale: Outdoor Summer Concert in July 🎉

By the time July rolls around, your child will be ready to perform live. We’ll be wrapping up the program with a summer concert in an outdoor venue, where all participants will showcase the beats, tracks, and performances they’ve been working on. This isn’t just another recital—it’s a real show, and your child is the star!
